Dear EViator, thanks for changing the world!
You pilot electric aircraft. You operate the flying controls of an electric aircraft. You build electric aircraft. You fly using electric propulsion. You put in countless simulator hours. You are fanatical about electric aviation.
You are an EViator.
You inspire us. You inspire the world through the pictures and videos of 21st century electric aviation. Your roots are set in the radio-controlled electric airplanes and helicopters of the 20th century, and then several technologies collided. With some micro, 3-axis accelerometers hacked from video game controllers, you buzzed into view with radio controlled multi-copters. Then micro-GPS receivers from cellular phones were added, and lithium batteries got really good. These electric ‘drones’ changed the world, and you’ve changed the world.
You’re now flying these drones in world drone racing leagues with first person view goggles in stadium sized courses. You’ve changed cinematography and captured images in ways that have never been done before. You’ve also changed both law enforcement and emergency response, by enabling search and rescue, and point of views that come at a fraction of the cost, a near instant response time, and at the push of a button.
These racing drones have grown big enough to carry an EViator, and now have their own global racing series.
Then, you had the crazy idea that you could use this technology to make you and others fly. The world was finally going to get its flying cars, but they would start out as electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft. These eVTOL aircraft will start flying with EViators at the controls.
You will also fly converted electric helicopters, and conventional aircraft converted with electric and distributed electric propulsion. These electric short take-off and landing and electric conventional take-off and landing aircraft will be piloted by EViators.
Things got really crazy with people building real hoverboards – Airboard, ArcaBoard, and Omni Hoverboard. Sky-diving evolved with wingsuits, and you added electric turbines so instead of just falling, you could gain altitude and fly.
Big or small, you fly them all.
Whether you call them video games or simulators, you fly drones and electric aircraft in them. Microsoft gave us the entire real world to explore and experience, in a simulated environment. You flew that world with a mix
Thanks for continuing to change the world during Aviation 4.0 - the EViator era.
